To broaden the potentiality and reputation of Cambodian rice in the international markets, Baitangnecessarily needs thecommunity members to use good purified seed through the establishment of the purified seed community in the targeted agricultural areas of high potential in the community. At the present time, Baitangforms purified seed community in 2 important areas in Battambang, i.e., ThmorKol and Banan district with the land size of 500 hectars. At the meantime, Baitangalso selects other two districts in Pursat province, i.e., Bakan and Kandeang district with the land size of 300 hectars.

Baitang selects technical teams who are specialized in paddy seed purification in cooperate with Provincial Department of Agriculture, Battambang and Pursat as partners to train Baitang community members onthe techniques of paddy growing. Technical team will direct, instruct and follow upthose community members on farming techniques from seeds selection to harvest. Baitangsupplies purified seeds to the members. After harvesting, Baitang buys output paddy from the members with higher price than other areas with no purified practice. This purified paddy will extensively be supplied to otherareas in Battambang, BanteayMeanchey and Pursat together with other targeted provinces for the next year plan – contributing to the promotion of paddy production and rice export.

Baitang (Kampuchea) Plc. would set up the market tobuy paddy from the farmers, especially members of Baitang community; the price is set competitively based on free market and contractual agreement betweenBaitang and community members. Baitang prioritizes buying paddy from its membersthan those who are not the members.   Thus, Baitang encourages farmers in the agriculturepotential areas to join community membership in order to collaborate and increase paddy production.

Baitang has listed its members on top which means that all members could sell paddy to Baitang with relatively higher price, which means theinspiration to the farmers. At the present time, most farmers become members of Baitang community for paddy market opportunity.
